Plan YouR Path

Know what you want but don’t know how to make it happen?

Here, we teach you how to organize a plan of action to make sure you have all the steps in place that you need to make a positive change in your life.

From setting goals to creating a timeline, we will provide the structure you need to make sure you achieve the life transformation you seek.

Step 3: Set Your Route

Setting your route to reach your dream involves strategic planning and setting milestones.

Strategic planning is simply making a plan for a big project. You’re going to figure out how to achieve your dream step by step. Think of it like mapping out a road trip with pitstops along the way.

First, take some time to learn the basics of what it takes to reach that dream. It’s like evaluating the pros and cons of the different recommended routes in a map app. Once you’re comfortable enough with the options, choose the route that you think will best suit you.

Then, you set up signposts for yourself along the way by marking achievement points. These are also known as milestones. It’s how you’ll confirm you’re still heading in the right direction.

To finish up this step, use what you’ve learned to write smaller, bite-sized goals that will get you started. What does it look like when you reach your first milestone?

The articles below will help you complete these tasks and set yourself on the path to success.

Step 4: Break Down Your Plan

It’s time to roll up our sleeves and get into the nitty-gritty of making your dreams a tangible reality.

Breaking down your plan means dissecting that big, beautiful goal into action. It’s about turning “someday” into actionable tasks for “today.”

To achieve your goals, start by creating a detailed task list. Then, assign points to estimate the effort required for each task.

Next, calculate the time you’ll need by dividing the total points by the points you can complete in a cycle. This tells you how many cycles you need to reach your goal. A cycle can be as long or as short as you’d like. We recommend 1 week to 1 month. This range allows you a reasonable amount of time to get things done without going so long that you lose focus on what you’re supposed to be doing.

Finally, create a roadmap by setting a start date and calculating the end date based on the number of cycles.  This will give you your realistic end date.

For extra credit, you can do the same time-mapping exercise for each of the tasks in the task list. Be careful though, because this can become a lot to manage. You don’t want to spend all of your time keeping track of how you’re doing and no time actually doing.

Ready to break it down together? These articles will show you how to map out your success, step by step.
